Make sure it's running native
- 01Open Surge XT, then press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- 02On the Details page, right-click a column header, choose Select columns, and tick Architecture.
- 03Find its process. ARM64 means native. x64 means you have the emulated build, so reinstall it from the link above.

Does Surge XT run natively on Windows on ARM?
Yes. Surge Synth Team publishes an official beta ARM64EC build, which runs natively and can still load x64 plug-ins.
Where do I download Surge XT for ARM64?
Use the direct download link on this page. ARM64/ARM64EC in nightly builds. If Task Manager shows the app as x64 after installing, you have the emulated build.
Will Surge XT run on a Snapdragon X laptop or Copilot+ PC?
Yes. The ARM64 build runs on any Windows 11 on ARM PC, including Snapdragon X-series laptops, Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, and other Copilot+ PCs.
